For Trainers
Trainers and veterinary behaviourists work best as a team. If you are working with a pet whose behaviour is not responding as expected, or where you suspect a medical or pharmacological component, we are here to collaborate.
When a referral to a DACVB may help
Behaviour has not responded to well-implemented training protocols
Anxiety or fear is severe enough that the pet cannot engage with learning and training
Medication may be needed to allow training to be effective
Aggression poses a safety concern beyond the scope of a training program
A medical contributor to behaviour change is suspected
The owner needs a formal diagnosis or clinical framework
How we work together
A referral to True North does not mean stepping away from a case - it means adding a layer of specialist support. Dr. Squair's treatment plans are designed to integrate with ongoing training, and she is happy to collaborate directly with trainers who are already working with a client.
How to refer a client
Please fill out the Trainer Referral From below and we will be in touch with your clients to arrange their appointment. Alternatively, you can direct your client to the For Pet Parents page to book directly.
